The Surprise Garden Unit: Fence Patterns

After students learned what a pattern core is, they did this activity.  They had to identify the pattern core first.  That's the sheet at the bottom with the child's name beside it.  Finally, they coloured in the fence to match the core.


The majority of the patterns were AB patterns.

There were some AAB patterns.


Then there was this:

If you look at the other posts about patterns, you'll notice that this was not a one-hit-wonder for our friend Hans (a JK student!).

The fence patterns were then displayed around the perimeter of the bulletin board.
