Anchor Charts for Math

Here are a few anchor charts Iain uses in his classroom.  Anchor charts should act as a resource for students and therefore should be co-constructed with them.  Notice the student friendly language that Iain uses.

DR. APE
This is an acronym that Iain uses to get his students to solve math problems.  There are a few more posts under Grade 1/2 (Iain-St. Andrews) if you want more examples of how it's used.

Academic Vocabulary
We ask students to follow these prompts often but students don't always have a clear understanding of what you're looking for.  Iain found the definition of the following and made them student-friendly.  He intentionally uses this language in his oral instructions and prompting as well.
